34 POUND CATFISH C&R AT SANTA ANA RIVER LAKES
Ben Bullard of Orange was fishing for bass in the Catfish Lake and caught and released a 34 pound catfish using a bass lure.
Santiago Palacios of West Covina fished/camped overnight and ended up with 13 catfish totaling 26 pounds using a mealworm & marshmallow combo fishing in Chris’ Pond. Noah Rodriguez of West Covina caught 5 big catfish using mackerel totaling 22 pounds 8 ounces, his largest at 8 pounds also fishing in Chris’ Pond. Louie Hernandez of La Puente caught 10 catfish totaling 21 pounds using mackerel fishing in the Big Lake at “The Road”.

Santa Ana River Lakes is currently stocking catfish every Friday, Tilapia every other Friday and is open 7 days a week for both day & night fishing. 24 hour camping/overnight fishing is scheduled for every Friday & Saturday night, 5pm to 4pm the next day during the summer.
