26 POUND CATFISH CAUGHT AT SANTA ANA RIVER LAKES

Rick Kizzee of Los Angeles caught his 5 catfish limit totaling 40 pounds 2 ounces fishing from a float tube using bonita in the Catfish Lake.13 pounds 12 ounces  The biggest 2 cats weighed in at 26 pounds 6 ounces & 13 pounds 12 ounces, both safely released back into the Catfish Lake.26 pounds 6 ounces  Rick took 1st place in the Aug-29th Float Tube & Kayak tournament at SARL taking home $300 and a new Okuma Battle Cat rod.300 AND OKUMA BATTLE CAT ROD !  Steve Swaney of El Monte caught 5 catfish totaling 27 pounds 15 ounces, his largest at 12 pounds 15 ounces using Whoop Ass mackerel fishing from a boat near the Bubble Hole.  Kevin & Isidorro Salgado caught 15 catfish totaling 18 pounds 12 ounces using night-crawlers at the Boat Dock in the Big Lake.  Manuel Cerda of Maywood caught and released a 10 pound 8 ounce catfish, from a float tube using shrimp in the Catfish Lake.

Santa Ana River Lakes is currently stocking catfish every Friday, Tilapia every other Friday and is open 7 days a week for both day & night fishing.  24 hour camping/overnight fishing is scheduled for every Friday & Saturday night, 5pm to 4pm the next day during the summer.
